Computer Problem With Drop-down Menus?
On my laptop, which is Windows Vista, whenever I right click something or theres is a drop down menu, such as File or edit, when I click on the option, it stays on the screen, you see the text and the action box. But it is only the first one, after the first one stays, the other ones don't, and when I close my computer and the fans inside turn off and all that, i open up my computer, it is still there on the welcome screen, but I sign into my file, and then it goes away. What would the cause of the problem be and how can I solve it?
Make sure you have the most recent updates, Service Pack etc.
You might consider upgrading to Windows 7. It really sounds like a file corruption.
If you have your Vista CD, you can try booting to it, and running the repair process. Also, Make sure your laptop is not set to hibernate.
Install all patches, reboot, and perhaps it will go away.
